    • The SHRM Commercial is available on U-Tube if anyone would like to check it out.
    • CAHRA continues to work on obtaining a badge certification for Aging Workforce through the SHRM Foundation. A Survey for Aging Workforce handout was distributed to members at the meeting and is attached.  Please take a few minutes to complete and return it to Michelle Meyer @ or any CAHRA Officer.  Thank you.
    • The Nebraska SHRM State Conference was held August 24-25 in La Vista.  Those who attended commented that it was filled with many timely and appropriate breakout sessions.  The keynote speakers were very energetic, informative, inspirational and entertaining!

CAHRA member, Sue Hellbush had her name drawn as the winner of the paid admission to the SHRM Conference!  We received a very nice thank you from Sue, HR/AP Manager at Midwest Medical & MedAir.   “I wanted to express my ‘Thank You’ to CAHRA for the funding of my attendance and the opportunity to attend the State SHRM Conference in August.  It was a ‘Grand’ experience; the choice of topics that were offered in the individual sessions were valuable and informative; the speakers brought wonderful messages and inspiration for all.  Thank you again for a wonderful opportunity!”  Sue Hellbusch

    • The topic for the meeting in November will be Time Management.  This will be the CAHRA “Social” and will be held November 16th from 4-5pm.   Make plans now to attend the CAHRA Social in November (venue TBD) and then stick around for the Downtown Stroll which is also that night.   Stay tuned for more details.
    • We continue to fine tune the CAHRA Facebook page which is now “live”.  Please send information and ideas to post on the page to Kristel Hall at .   We encourage all members to “follow us” on Facebook!

Reminder:  As an incentive to attend CAHRA Meetings and join a committee, every time you attend a CAHRA meeting your name will go into the hat and if you are an officer or serve as  a committee chairperson, your name will be put in as well.  Other opportunities, such as the quiz, may be offered during the year.  All names will go into a drawing and if your name is drawn, CAHRA will pay your State Conference Registration fee if your employer will not pay for it.

Members are encouraged to bring a guest to the monthly meetings.  Guests who attend three CAHRA meetings throughout the year will automatically become a CAHRA member for the remainder of the year at no additional charge.

In order to retain your certification, members are responsible for entering their own certification credits for SHRM and HRCI.  Andra provided certificates at the July meeting for those in attendance.
